About the Role:
5 Star Service Group 5ssg Inc is looking for a talented and passionate Cook to join our team in beautiful Fernandina Beach, FL! Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor food inventory, freshness, and proper storage of ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries and supplies
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and maintain consistency
- Adapt to varying prep and line cooking duties as needed during service
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or prep cook in a professional kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Food Handler Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
