Position Summary

The Bier Haus is seeking an experienced, dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing quality food, works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, and understands the importance of consistency, cleanliness, teamwork, and food safety.

The ideal candidate has prior line-cook experience, is comfortable working multiple stations during busy service periods, and can consistently prepare menu items according to The Bier Haus recipes, portions, and presentation standards.

• Prepare and cook menu items accurately and efficiently according to established recipes and standards.

• Set up and maintain assigned stations before, during, and after each shift.

• Work grill, fryer, sauté, prep, and other stations as assigned.

• Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.

• Coordinate with servers and other kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and in a timely manner.

• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, temperature-control, and food-storage procedures.

• Complete daily food preparation, including chopping, portioning, sauces, proteins, and other ingredients.

• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food using appropriate procedures.

• Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or preparation needs to management.

• Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.

• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, coolers, and storage areas.

• Follow all The Bier Haus policies, procedures, recipes, and safety requirements.

• Assist other kitchen team members as needed, particularly during high-volume periods.

• Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.

• Previous professional line-cook experience required; 2+ years preferred.

• Restaurant experience in a high-volume or full-service kitchen strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.

• Ability to work multiple stations and manage several orders simultaneously.

• Ability to follow recipes and portion specifications consistently.

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a strong sense of urgency during busy periods.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

• Willingness to take direction and follow established kitchen procedures.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive motions.

• Safely lift and carry approximately 40–50 pounds.

• Work around hot cooking equipment, sharp utensils, steam, grease, and wet or slippery surfaces.

• Work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
