Position Overview

The Senior Project Engineer – Gas Turbine is responsible for leading engineering execution across complex power generation projects. This role serves as the primary technical liaison between engineering teams, project management, customers, and external partners, ensuring all technical deliverables align with contractual requirements.

This position requires strong experience with gas turbine systems and auxiliaries , along with the ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering coordination across project lifecycle phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, EPC partners, and Owner’s Engineers
• Lead project engineering planning activities including kickoffs, document control systems, and workflow coordination
• Translate contract requirements into actionable engineering deliverables across disciplines
• Monitor and drive engineering schedules, budgets, and progress tracking , including reporting and escalation
• Coordinate and resolve cross-functional engineering issues across mechanical, electrical, and I&C teams
• Support evaluation and management of design changes, ECNs, and contract deviations
• Review engineering drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with technical and contractual standards
• Collaborate with global teams and international affiliates to support project execution
• Assist with equipment specification, vendor evaluation, and procurement activities for gas turbine and combined cycle projects
• Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards including ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, NFPA, and NEC
• Partner with sourcing, quality, and project teams to ensure successful vendor and subcontractor execution
• Track and resolve technical issues through project completion and warranty phase

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical preferred); Master’s degree a plus
• 10–20 years of relevant experience in engineering or power project execution
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
• Strong experience with gas turbines and auxiliary systems
• Familiarity with combined cycle plants, steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant (BOP) is a plus
• Experience with 3D design tools (SP3D, SmartPlant, PDMS, or similar)
• Knowledge of ISO procedures and OSHA safety standards
• Experience working with global teams and international projects
• Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio
• Strong analytical and technical interpretation skills

Preferred:

• Multilingual (Japanese and/or Spanish)
• Prior experience with OEMs or EPC environments

Travel

• Approximately 10–30% travel
• Travel may include visits to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and project locations depending on project phase
