How You’ll Contribute A project manager (PM) oversees scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction throughout a project’s lifecycle—from initiating through closing. The PM focuses on written and verbal communication with stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high client satisfaction. Coordinate communication and stakeholder engagement. Provide leadership and ownership for assigned projects. Manage project activities, delegate responsibilities, and run internal and client meetings. Offer support to team members to ensure success. Maintain frequent communication with stakeholders. Design, plan, and coordinate work teams for AVE installation projects. Assume ownership of individual projects and assignments. Maintain communication with Account Executives, Directors, technicians, subcontractors, and clients. Provide project updates as required. Monitor labor, equipment, and materials budgets. Direct technical and administrative support to project team members. Maintain all related project schedules. Perform field verification of prospective work sites and document issues. Coordinate drawings and documentation among stakeholders. Facilitate design reviews to assure proper documentation in the field. Coordinate system programming, final checkout, and punch-list tasks. Contract with contractors and other trades when necessary. Monitor project status including cost, timing, and staffing. Ensure quality and continuous improvement. Coordinate training and turnover of projects to client service departments and sales teams. Complexity Projects vary widely, requiring negotiation of variables between design, site conditions, and stakeholder expectations. The PM must balance schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction amid constantly changing conditions. Decision Making Authority Takes full ownership of the project and acts as the single point of responsibility and accountability. Ensures schedule performance, solution quality, and client satisfaction. Manages and reports on the project’s financials, including budget performance and profitability. Communicates decision options to stakeholders and manages those decisions. Handles complex decisions throughout the project, though not always the sole decision-maker. Physical Working Environment The role involves frequent onsite construction work, including exposure to construction site conditions. The employee will be responsible for safety, use of PPE, and may spend up to 40% of time on their feet and mobile around sites. Physical requirements include climbing ladders, using stairs, and lifting up to 20 pounds. The role also requires office work with computer equipment. Travel Frequent travel by car and occasional airplane trips are required, with about 70‑90% of travel local (within 2 hours driving) and up to 30% remote. A valid driver’s license is required. Required Education & Certifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience. A PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired. AVIXA CTS certification. Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on technology focus. Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a project manager in commercial construction trades or AV projects. Familiarity with audio/video system installations. Knowledgeable of low‑voltage electrical projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory and people management skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical, political, and people‑related problems. High level of written and verbal communication. Client-focused to understand technology use for business needs. Approachable, collaborative, and a natural leader. Effective delegation and expectation management.
