Project Engineer

About the Company Walbec Group produces high-quality construction materials and offers professional design, engineering, and construction services across six companies. Project Engineer Responsibilities Assist and support Project Managers and key personnel with day‑to‑day tasks such as bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing, and collection. Use Safety Software and applications (e.g., HCSS, financials, scheduling). Perform take‑offs and bidding activities. Support building tasks including grading, paving, milling, and subcontractor coordination. Schedule and allocate equipment use. Negotiate contracts and manage billing and collection. Create and review specifications. Develop foundational knowledge of mix designs, plants, and aggregate sites (manufacturing). Understand general business operations and company details. Collaborate with other Project Engineers and PMs to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed on time. Work closely with Operations, PMs, Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Technical Services teams. Attend project meetings including pre‑construction, pre‑pave, and scheduling sessions. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, or certification from an accredited organization, or a combination of schooling and relevant experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong consulting, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Preferred Skills Prior experience in the transportation industry and logistics. Relevant industry experience is a plus. Excellent client‑management and business literacy skills. Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results. Competent at managing multiple conflicting priorities.
