Finance Supervisor/Deputy Director of Finance

The Finance Supervisor/Deputy Director of Finance is responsible for performing accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Responsible for maintaining accurate and precise accounting records and may act in the capacity of a customer service representative if needed. Responsible for acting as deputy to Director of Finance as needed.

All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: a quality defect, an unsafe act, or a health hazard.

Essential duties and responsibilities include supervising and ensuring compliance of payroll process, overseeing retention of payroll records, leading payroll projects and managing payroll workflow, overseeing resolution of payroll issues, identifying and implementing new procedures to mitigate future payroll concerns, preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages, determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and worker's compensation payments, proactively researching new trends and forward-thinking payroll processes, reviewing state and federal tax payments and reports, resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, providing payroll information by answering questions and requests, reconciling payroll amounts to general ledger, tracking financial trends by executing payroll analysis, maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes, maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential, contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, maintaining and certifying compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines, payroll programming as needed, supervising processing of customer payments, supervising research and resolution of payment discrepancies, reconciling bank and other accounts as required, tracking and submitting 401K withholdings, coordinating month end physical inventory, preparing worksheets and distributing to appropriate individuals and summarizing results, maintaining, balancing, and distributing petty cash fund, responsible for collecting and managing cash flows, determining sales tax status of all purchases and prepare appropriate documentation for exempt purchases, effectively perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary and appropriate, assisting with the end of month closing & different projects as assigned, supporting the development of the corporation's plans and programs, serving as Deputy to Director of Finance as needed, acting as Staff Accountant (AP/AR) backup as needed, assisting staff in performing their responsibilities by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends, providing technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline, providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization, assisting with end of month closing, analyzing historical and current financial data to understand the company's financial status, developing predictive financial models to support organizational decision-making, analyzing processes to identify gaps that can improve profit margins, establishing benchmarks for financial processes, assisting with audit reconciliations and requests, creating written reports that enable management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals, developing forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis, identifying process improvement initiatives and defining standards for new processes, overseeing and ensuring that employee/employer contributions are submitted for 401(k) plan, preparation and submission of monthly financial accounts, working at all levels to identify areas of opportunity for cost reductions, efficiency improvements, data analysis and throughput, treasury and credit control, including working with commercial and quality departments to resolve customer disputes; highlighting solvency issues and take appropriate actions of recourse against parties demonstrating liquidity issues (bad or doubtful debts,) while at times, protecting the company's interests, assisting in preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, reporting and ad hoc information requests; helps to ensure these requests are coordinated, communicated, understood, and delivered on time and in required format, assisting as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter, serving as the deputy for the Director of Finance as required for all Finance-related responsibilities, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include experience, competencies and education. An experienced individual with appropriate industry experience, 5+ years industrial site preferred. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS to include experience of group financial reporting for an international company. Strong knowledge of product costing, variance analysis, credit control, and cash management. A well organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills; proficient at delivering financial information to non-financial team members. A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor. A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems and possesses good computer skills. High School Diploma or GED (BS Preferred), 10 th Grade Math Level, and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to clearly convey thoughts and ideas to all levels of the organization.
