he Part-Time Support Companion – Young Adult with Autism (Carlsbad / San Marcos)
We’re looking for a kind, dependable, and upbeat person to support a sweet, positive 22-year-old young man with autism in his structured day programs. This is a relationship-based, long-term part-time role , not temporary and not a path to full-time work.
Schedule (approx. 25 hrs/week):
• Tues / Thurs / Fri: 9:00–3:00
• Mon / Wed: 9:00–12:30
(Friday is optional)
Pay: $25+/hour (W-2)
He attends programs at TERI and Palomar College in the Carlsbad / San Marcos area. Your role is to be a supportive presence and partner , helping encourage communication, social interaction, and participation in activities—not hands-on medical care.
Responsibilities
- Provide calm, positive support during day programs
- Encourage communication and social engagement
- Help with transitions and daily routines
- Drive to and between programs as needed
Qualifications
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Able to pass a background check
- No experience required— training provided
- Experience with autism or disabilities is a plus
This position is ideal for someone seeking stable, meaningful part-time work , such as a parent with school-aged children or someone pursuing education or other part-time commitments.
