Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical‑Surgical Location: Kodiak, AK | Agency: Mindlance Health | Pay: $2,040 per week | Shift: 3 days × 12 hours | Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: 7/20/2026 Job Overview Registered Nurses (RNs) are needed for 13‑week assignments in a Level‑IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital at Kodiak with an emphasis on medical‑surgical patient care. The role includes day or night 12‑hour shifts with patient ratios of 5:1 on all days, nights, and weekends. Flexibility is required for call and float to meet facility needs. The position offers travel housing and a rental vehicle. Responsibilities Provide primary and secondary nursing care for medical‑surgical patients. Perform and interpret blood product administration, central line maintenance, chest tube management, and IV insulin protocols. Monitor and respond to telemetry and dysrhythmias. Administer PCA/PCU/DOU/IMC/Step‑down therapy as needed. Assist with patient registry and documentation using Epic charting system. Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and support unit operations. Maintain patient vitality following post‑MI protocols and CVA management. Qualifications Active Alaska RN license (license in hand required; pending license accepted with 10–12‑week completion). Minimum 1 year experience in medical‑surgical or critical care nursing. Certifications: ACLS, BLS; preferred additional certifications: Emergency Nursing Board, Phlebotomy, etc. Proficiency in Epic electronic health record. Patient‑ratio experience: 5:1 on day, night, and weekend shifts. Willingness to work schedule of 3 days per week, 12 hours each. Ability to float within unit and occasionally across affiliate hospitals. Valid driver’s license; rental vehicle provided by facility. Must comply with hepatitis B vaccination requirement. Benefits & Logistics Hospital‑provided housing: 1‑bedroom apartment, move‑in 72 hours before contract start, move‑out within 24 hours after contract end. Rental vehicle provided; use limited to 30‑mile radius; cleaning and fuel required upon return. Parking free at facility. Travelers may work up to 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) but must accept at least two. Guaranteed 60 hours per two‑week period; flexibility for up to 1 additional 12‑hour shift every two weeks. No domestic partner housing option; travel package includes accommodation and vehicle only.
