Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Location: Seattle, WA

This position is a temporary-to-hire opportunity for a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) in an infectious disease clinic.

Schedule

Type: Day Shift

Hours: 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

Days: Monday to Friday

Weekends: Off

Qualifications

Certification: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) is required; other certifications (MA-R, MA-P, MA-HT) are not acceptable.

Experience: Minimum of 6 months working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting.

Required Skills

Vital Signs: Measure height, weight, obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, and vision testing.

Preparation for Exam: Positioning/draping, and recording history, medications, and allergies.

Procedure Assistance: Assist with dressing changes, Pap smears, and setting up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.

Injections: Administer immunizations, both intradermal and intramuscular.

Specimen Collection: Label and collect various specimens (sputum, stool, throat, urine, vaginal, wound).

Laboratory Tests: Perform tests including Strep and urine dipstick/urinalysis.

Office Duties: Handle authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering supplies, and scheduling appointments.

Professional Skills: Administer medications, perform TB tests, conduct follow-up phone calls, review lab tests, room patients, care for wounds, and suture removal.

Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.

Additional Information

Charting Software: Experience with EPIC is required.

Scrub Color: Any color.

No weekend or on-call duties required.

This position does not require floating to different units; you will be stationed in the same location daily.
