In this role, you will design, develop, and support highly scalable, secure payment solutions that process ACH, virtual card, check, and other digital payment transactions while contributing to the architecture and evolution of our payment platform. Preferred work location is hybrid in our Concord office. Remote candidates residing in the Pacific or Mountain time zones will also be considered based on experience and qualifications. What You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications for enterprise payment processingBuild scalable front-end applications using React and modern UI frameworks Develop secure, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIsUse AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate coding, refactoring, and debugging Design and optimize relational database schemas and SQL queriesIntegrate with external payment providers, banking partners, and third-party APIsEnsure applications meet security, compliance, and performance requirementsParticipate in architecture discussions and technical design reviewsParticipate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices across the team Identify opportunities to improve system design, performance, and developer productivity Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causesWrite automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testsCollaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams throughout the software development lifecycleWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of full-stack development experienceStrong experience with Java and Spring BootStrong Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIsStrong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL ServerExperience with React and modern front-end frameworks Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelinesExperience building cloud-based applications (AWS preferred) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsStrong understanding of Agile development methodologiesNice to HaveExperience working on payment processing, fintech, banking, healthcare payments, or financial services platforms Experience integrating with third-party APIs and secure payment gatewaysKnowledge of OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and modern authentication frameworksFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deploymentsFamiliarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQExperience with performance tuning, observability, and production monitoringKnowledge of secure coding practices and regulatory requirementsExperience with payment reconciliation and settlement systemExperience with PCI DSS or other financial compliance standardsKnowledge of healthcare payment workflows and EDI transactionsExperience with test automation frameworksExperience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systemsPay TransparencyOffice Ally is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices in alignment with pay transparency laws.
