IT Specialist

Duties You will monitor IT installations to ensure a life cycle approach to all applicable security requirements are maintained. You will perform management review of IT systems and provide formal briefings and written reports in support of command positions. You will manage all tasks and submissions in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization requirements. You will participate in an information security risk assessment during the Security Assessment and Authorization process. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722-INFOSEC MANAGER, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting cyber inspections and internal audits to ensure continuous compliance with department standards; 2) Adhering to applicable laws, regulations, and directives to support business processes and operations; 3) Analyzing IT security developments to determine their impact on the command mission and recommend needed changes; and 4) Maintaining the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of systems, networks, and data. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: conducting cyber inspections and internal audits to ensure continuous compliance with department standards and prepare formal readiness assessments. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: working with leadership and users to scope and define program and project requirements and deliverables that are necessary to meet the business and cybersecurity needs of the organization. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and to respond appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: relaying policy changes, plans, directions, and training to others, as well as making recommendations to ensure a fully compliant infrastructure protection program is implemented. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: utilizing systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools to ensure a total infrastructure protection environment and systems security weaknesses are addressed.
