Pharmacist in Charge in Purvis, MS

An independent retail pharmacy in Hattiesburg, MS, has recently opened a new location and urgently needs a Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to start immediately. This role is vital to getting the pharmacy operational and serving the community, with prescription volumes estimated at 1,500 to 2,000 per month. The client is open to local candidates or travel pharmacists willing to relocate or commute, with flexible options including part-time (minimum 20 hours) or full-time schedules.


Location: Hattiesburg, MS

Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of day-to-day retail pharmacy operations
• Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Manage and review prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate with a dedicated pharmacy technician to maintain smooth workflow and excellent patient care
• Support a high-volume pain clinic, serving approximately 140 patients daily

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Mississippi Pharmacist License required (license will be held at the pharmacy)
• Experience managing prescriptions, including controlled substances/pain medications
• Professional, friendly, and dependable presence
• Management experience is not mandatory; strong organizational skills and attention to compliance are essential

The pharmacy utilizes a modern dispensing system (DRX) and has a strong technician in place to assist the PIC. Additional staff support will be added as the operation grows.
