We are looking for a well‑qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid role in multiple offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. Responsibilities Support a team of professionals to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design. Develop plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, and presentations. Manage ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process. Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects. Actively participate in the team’s production of technical deliverables such as plans, specifications, estimates, and reports. Work with Early in Career staff and review technical work and project documentation. Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget while adhering to AECOM quality standards. Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, external clients, and sub-consultants. Perform work in accordance with agreed‑upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities. Minimum Qualifications BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, or traffic staging. Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain a PE license within 6 months. Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience using traffic and traffic simulation software and design platforms. Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required. Strong interpersonal skills, good command of the English language, time‑management ability, and a positive attitude toward work.
