Job Title: Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active MD or Compact RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: - Trach and ventilator management experience required - Pediatric experience acceptable with required skills - Charge experience preferred Description: Seeking a Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse for a mixed unit focused on rehabilitation. The role involves caring for pediatric and adolescent patients with various diagnoses. Common diagnoses include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, burns, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and post-orthopedic surgical patients requiring extensive rehabilitation services. Experience in trach and ventilator management is essential. This position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts. Every other weekend coverage is required. Holidays may also be required as scheduled. Floating to other departments may be required within the specialty as needed. Scrubs of any color or pattern may be worn. Candidates must be comfortable with a patient ratio of 1:4 during shifts. Preferred skills include central line care, NG tube management, oxygen delivery systems, and wound care. Travelers are expected to be flexible with shift and scheduling requests. Compliance regarding certifications and licensing is mandatory before placement.
