If this sparks your interest, you're in the right place.DLR Group has an opening for a Senior Mechanical Controls Engineer.Position SummaryAs part of the engineering team at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of control systems from schematics through construction administration for buildings across a variety of sectors including Higher Education, Culture & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Justice/Civic, Mission Critical, and Energy. As part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You will be responsible for participating in the design process of building systems and preparing detailed drawings and specifications.The Successful Candidate WillLead multiple projects and staff over multiple regions to assure local teams of engineers know the specific design criteria of projects and train engineering teams on design of control systems.Assure quality of design produced by teams through multiple touch pointsManage engineering project execution, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and scope while maintaining client expectationsTrack project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards and preparing regular status reportsFacilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating project personnel, vendors, and consultantsActively engage in business development initiatives by contributing to RFP responses, participating in client interviews and fostering client relationships.Lead the design of building automation, smoke control, and electrical system control systems on projects.Collaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design processCarry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuanceRepresent DLR Group at meetings with owners, clients, and suppliersMentor emerging professional engineers and assist in the development and implementation of controls standards firm wide.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience writing controls specifications, creating controls system diagrams, and writing sequences of operations.Familiarity with facility operations and maintenance of building systemsWorking knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplinesStrong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and writtenUnderstanding of business management and customer service principlesKnowledge of building and energy codesDemonstrated record of consistent quality workAbility to lead others and foster teamworkKnowledge and support of DLR Group's climate action strategy and commitments, including AIA2030, MEP2040 and SE2050Preferred QualificationsExperience with consulting engineering or A/E firm as an engineer designing mechanical, power, lighting, and/or low voltage systems.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering or related field.Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)15+ years of experience working as an engineer, including design of building systems.Experience with SCADA systems design.Experience with integrating of lighting systems into a building automation system.Experience with integrating electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems into security and building automation systems.LEED accreditation.Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.Building energy modeling experience.Our comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off. The suggested pay range for this position is:Pay Range$84,700 - $144,430 USD
