Mental Health Professional Part-Time

Part‑Time Mental Health Professional (MHP) - Montco Crisis Residential Program We are seeking qualified candidates for the Part‑Time Mental Health Professional (MHP) position at our Montco Crisis Residential program in Hatboro, PA. The MHP provides support in a residential setting to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who do not pose an immediate risk to themselves or the safety of others. The MHP develops and implements individual program plans, coordinates specialized service provision, and provides counseling and crisis intervention. Responsibilities Providing direct clinical services, including individual supportive therapy and group psychotherapy, to participants. Conduct comprehensive assessments of psychiatric history, mental status, diagnosis, physical and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol, education and employment, social development and functioning; activities of daily living such as living situation, nutrition, money management. Provide service coordination and support to participants, focusing on individual personal and treatment goals. Assume primary responsibility for developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall treatment goals and plans in collaboration with participants. Provide supportive therapy and symptom management, advocating for participants’ rights and preferences. Ongoing assessment of participants’ mental illness symptoms and responses to treatment plans to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions in response to changes in mental status or behavior that put participants at risk, such as suicide. Report needed repairs and follow up on safety concerns to the supervisor; participate in routine facility cleaning and maintenance as assigned. Provide direct services to persons with serious mental illnesses during specified shifts and guide participants with chores, ADL skills, personal finances, cooking, etc. Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Education, and at least 3 years of mental health direct‑care experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of mental health direct‑care experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team. Skill and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment. Knowledge of mental health systems and supports. Good oral and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of clients during emergencies. Scope of Work Frequent talking and listening. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for 24‑hour on‑call coverage. Requires ability to lift, carry, hold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention with participants. Local travel required, including transporting program participants. May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
