City and State: Houston, TX Job Summary: We are looking for experienced pipe layers with 1-2 years of commercial experience to help us on our various wastewater projects across Houston. Pay Range: $20-22 per hour Responsibilities Workdays are Monday – Friday, starting at 6:00 AM, working 8-9 hours per day with overtime available at times Setting water pumps Running PVC pipes above ground Cut pipes to required length Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing or joining Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers Connect pipe pieces and seal joints by either bolting, cement, or glue Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools Other general labor and construction duties as required Standing for prolonged periods Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching Pushing and pulling heavy objects Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds Qualifications 1-2 years’ experience in construction 1 year of experience with pipe laying techniques Willing to submit to a drug screen Must be mechanically inclined Must have reliable transportation This position involves regular physical activity, including: Pipe Layer: 1 year (Required) Construction: 2 years (Required) Position Number: 29377 Quality Labor Management (QLM) provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, transgender status or sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
