Diesel Technician

Industrial Equipment MechanicTo service, repair and maintain mechanical functionality of all industrial vehicle equipment. Complete on-the-job and classroom training in the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of the product line and associated repair/service procedures so as to be successful as an equipment mechanic. Mechanic reports to Fleet Manager.Duties/Responsibilities:Keep a repair log of all service work, parts needed and duration of time on each repair.Keep a record of all expenses incurred, submit weekly reportsUphold Strack's safety commitment as well as any safety requirements of the customersDetermine overall condition of machines through inspections and provide maintenanceDiagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systemsRestore equipment to working order through component replacement and/or repairExhibit positive and effective communication and interaction with other Strack, Inc. associates, vendors, and customersKeep current on record keeping, parts ordering/inventory, basic contract provisions with respect to product warranties, and customer invoicingUtilize operators and parts & maintenance manuals in determining procedures and identifying partsEssential Requirements:Align with our Company core values of Better Everyday, Everyone Matters, Humble Hearts/Open Hands and Mindful in Everything.Must be willing and able to travel out of town, and/or out of state to work on job sites.Must have good work ethics: Be on time, Work hard and Willing to learn.Must have reliable transportation.Must be able to pay high degree of attention to safety and promote a safe work environment.Requirements:Examine vehicles to determine extent of damages or malfunctionsRepair, reline, replace and adjust brakesReview work orders and discuss work with supervisorsFollow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areasPlan work procedures using charts, technical manuals and experienceCommunicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problemsPerform routine and scheduled maintenance servicesRepair manual and automatic transmissionsReplace and adjust headlightsComply with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelinesAdhere to company rules and regulationsEnsure cleanliness of shop and surrounding areasAbility to read, write, and communicate in EnglishBasic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devicesValid Driver's LicenseHigh School diploma or equivalentJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Competitive Salary – Paid WeeklyMedical Health Insurance Benefits after 30 daysVision & Dental InsuranceLife Insurance Programs401k after 6 months of service plus company matchCorporate Giving MatchVacation/Paid Time Off after 120-day probationary periodEqual Opportunity Employer
