Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins. Responsibilities A janitor/cleaner/custodian oversees keeping the workplace clean, organized and disinfected. The following responsibilities include: Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Performs work assignments in a team with other employees. Take direction and respond to supervision. Talk with manager, peers, and customers in a professional manner. Use proper personal protective equipment. Understand customer service and satisfaction. Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and restrooms. Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones. Maintain cleaning inventory and placing orders for new products when needed. Remove debris from sidewalks. Empty trash and recycling bins. Qualifications Must be energetic, pleasant, and professional. Strong communication skills. Recognize and understand safety requirements and meet company handbook expectations.
