RN CDI Specialist

To support a flexible CDI department, the full-time RN CDI Specialist will facilitate physician documentation, conduct medical record reviews, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate clinical documentation while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Completes initial and ongoing patient medical record reviews and enters findings in the CDE software system Clarifies documentation with physicians and educates healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement Partners with coding professionals to ensure accuracy in diagnostic data and prepares appeals for third-party payors Required qualifications: Current RN Licensure Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in medical/surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department settings CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in physician relations Ability to adapt to different environments and workflows, demonstrating openness to innovation
