Salary:
Westaff is hiring for multiple CNC Machinist and CNC Operator openings near the Portland, CT and Meriden, CT area!
Pay $20-40 based on experience
CNC Machinist Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials onto the machines.
- Set up and run first pieces to verify that the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent degree/experience
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with PLCs, servo, and other motion controls, pneumatics, sensors, etc.
- Solid modeling/CAD/CAM experience a plus (SolidWorks, PartMaker, S Abile, etc.)
- Knowledge of machine shop equipment and practice, (actual machining experience a plus)
- Hands-on experience with assembly, debug, and troubleshooting
- SPC experience and proficiency
