Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a dynamic environment, primarily in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum care. Floating to other departments may be required based on patient census and departmental needs.

Position Type: Full-Time
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 15 (6 Labor & Delivery, 9 Postpartum)
Patient Ratios: In accordance with AWHONN Standards
Equipment: Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter Pumps, Masimo Monitors, GE Centricity Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
EHR: Centricity/MEDHOST
Supervisor: Local Supervisor

Patient Population

The patient population includes adults and newborns.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery, including Cesarean sections, OB triage, and postpartum care.
Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring.

Essential Skills

Ability to manage and support normal vaginal deliveries (SVD) and Cesarean sections.
Proficient in fetal monitoring and interventions.
Experience with postpartum care and couplet care for mother and newborn.
Skills in managing complications such as hemorrhages and hypertensive crises.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal care.

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, flexible, a team player, and dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.

Education

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Dress Code

Scrub color is flexible; street clothes are not permitted.

Additional Notes

This position is a contractor replacement for a crucial role in providing care and support in a vibrant community.
