The Long-Term Substitute Teacher Rate applies to substitute teachers that work in the same teaching position that is 15 consecutive days or more. The Long-Term Sub Rate will be effective on day 15 and will be retroactive to the first day of the assignment. Any break in consecutive days worked will end the Long-Term Sub Rate and 15 days must be reached again to qualify.

Para Educator Level B are Para Educators who spend two or more hours or more of their work day assisting students with more involved needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, lifting/positioning, and/or assisting students in the Learning Lab program. Harlem Retired Support Staff earn $2.50 more per hour.

The Support Staff Mobility Incentive: Substitute working in support staff positions, including Para Educator assignments, may qualify for a monthly mobility incentive. To receive the incentive, you must: Be scheduled in Frontline for every student attendance day during the month, being flexible and willing to accept reassignment to other support staff positions when needed. The incentive is only offered during school (calendar) months with 15 or more student attendance days.

The Teacher's Mobility Incentive is offered to those working as a substitute in teaching positions (you may work as a Para Educator substitute, but at least one day in the month you must sub as a teacher). 4. Competency in use of existing technology

Responsibilities

1. Actively support the mission of the school and district.

Duties

1. Provides direct nursing services to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community. All duties are performed in accordance with district/state board of education policies and procedures and state law regarding nurse practice.

2. Administers medication with appropriate documentation.

3. Participates in maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions, and related archival responsibilities.

4. Makes appropriate assessment and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter.

5. Maintain communication with the certified school nurse, teacher, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the health and safety needs of students.

6. Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff.

7. Maintain confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues in accordance with HEPAA laws.

8. Maintain the daily log of students/staff visits and documentation on individual health records.

9. Maintain the daily environment of the health office facility and supplies.

10. Keep current with best practices and requirements as they relate to your job assignment.

11. Perform such other job related duties and assume such other professional responsibilities as your supervisor may from time to time assign or delegate.
