Heavy Civil Estimator

About the Opportunity A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking a Civil Estimator to support the estimating and preconstruction efforts of major infrastructure projects throughout Washington State. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering complex public and private heavy civil projects and continues to expand its operations across transportation, utilities, site development, and public works construction. This position offers an opportunity for both experienced estimators and heavy civil project professionals who understand how heavy civil projects are built and want to transition further into estimating. Candidates with strong project execution backgrounds who have been exposed to estimating, quantity tracking, budgeting, procurement, or project controls are encouraged to apply. Project Types Projects may include: Heavy highway construction Airport infrastructure Bridges and structural concrete construction Roadway improvements Grading, excavation, and mass earthwork Underground utility installation Water, sewer, stormwater, and drainage systems Pump stations and utility infrastructure Site development and building pads Fish passage and environmental projects Structural excavation and demolition Public works and transportation infrastructure Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects Evaluate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production costs Assist in bid preparation, pricing, and proposal development Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers Support change order pricing and cost evaluation Participate in project handoff and preconstruction planning activities Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking efforts Required Qualifications Experience in heavy civil construction environments Understanding of construction methods associated with roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork, excavation, drainage, or transportation infrastructure Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and project scopes Working knowledge of quantity takeoffs, budgeting, estimating, project controls, or cost management Strong communication and organizational skills Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience with: Bluebeam HCSS HeavyBid Bid2Win (B2W) HeavyJob Procore Microsoft Project Primavera P6 Previous experience as: Civil Estimator Project Engineer Assistant Project Manager Project Manager Superintendent Construction Manager DOT, public works, utility, transportation, excavation, or site development experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Keystone Distinction Group
