Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room / Circulate Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required Must-Have: - Experience in providing nursing care in an operating room setting - Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and team members - Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills - Ability to handle high volumes of patient requests Description: This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for patients and their families. Expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected. Collaboration with providers, staff, and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes is essential. Oversight of daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction is required. Capability to triage incoming patient requests for services is necessary. Patient education is delivered to facilitate the plan of care, inform healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness. Demonstration of ability to delegate care appropriately according to state statutes is needed. Competent healthcare assessment, prioritizing skills, and critical thinking skills must be demonstrated. The ability to handle high telephone volumes of patient requests for medications, information, and assistance is required. Medications are administered, treatments performed, and assistance in procedures is provided as needed, adhering to patient safety guidelines. Coordination of patient care with other physician practices and healthcare providers is necessary to achieve a high level of patient care and satisfaction. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential. Excellent service is delivered by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication. Role modeling principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values is expected. Compliance with HIPAA regulations is mandatory.
