Ready-Mix Driver

As a valued member of our team, you will be working for our well-established, medium-sized construction materials company with multiple production plants throughout California. The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites. The role requires the driver to operate the truck in a safe and efficient manner, following and adhering to all applicable Federal & State laws.

Paid training is available for candidates that have a Class A or B license with air brake and tank endorsements with no automatic restrictions. Starting pay is $30 per hour after paid training.

Supervisory responsibilities are none. Essential functions include driving the truck safely and timely to location for unloading, driving the truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer, moving levers on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and reports repairs to personnel, assembling, disassembling, lifting, and carrying chutes, cleaning truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck, maintaining a clean vehicle, monitoring trucks and other company equipment to ensure appearance, safety, and proper maintenance levels, maintaining accurate work and driving records of daily activities, maintaining a high level of customer service through courteous and effective communication with dispatchers, plant management, other drivers, contractors, and customers, and performing all duties assigned by management in a timely manner.

Non-essential duties include assisting in yard functions, lifting materials and operating yard equipment, and attending safety and other training meetings as required. Core competencies include the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, and a strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.

This is a full-time position. Hours of work may vary at plant or other location. Not eligible for remote work. Must be available 6 days a week and to work overtime as needed.

Preferred education and experience include possession of a valid unrestricted California Commercial Driver License (Group A or B) and comply with Department of Transportation regulations, must have Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement and a safe driving record, knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements, and high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
