Fuel Attendants will provide assistance with the coordination of boating related activates that occur at the Fuel Dock. In addition, the Fuel Attendant will assist department staff in the performance of their duties including cleaning of docks, grounds, and minor fuel spill response./ppstrongEssential Functions Duties:/strong/pulliClean and perform routine inspection on the fueling stations, docks, Fuel Dock store, and floating containment booms./liliAdhere to State, Federal, and Tribal regulations regarding operations of fuel storage tanks and floating marine fueling stations;/liliSafely operate fuel pumps and dispensing equipment, and accurately record fuel transactions;/liliAssist with vessels docking at the Fuel Dock and vessel tie ups;/liliInstruct boaters on the proper methods for performing fueling operations and supervisor dispensing of fueling products;/liliEnforce marina rules, regulations, best management practices;/liliRespond promptly to fuel spills or other emergencies, and initiate appropriate emergency response procedures;/liliPossess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pstrongQualifications:/strong/pulliMust be 18 years or older/liliOutstanding hospitality and customer service skills/liliWeekend, holiday and occasional after hours work will be required for position/liliAbility to organize, prioritize work and meet guest needs/liliPosses reliable transportation/liliBoat safety, first aid and CPR knowledge preferred/liliAbility to be trained in boat safety regulations and environmental protection practices/liliAbility to operate fuel pumps and dispensing equipment safely/liliPhysical ability to perform fueling and other manual tasks, and work in outdoor weather conditions./li/ulpstrongExperience:/strong Previous experience in fuel dock operations or similar role preferred./ppstrongEducation:/strong High School diploma or equivalent preferred./ppstrongGeneral Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:/strong Knowledge of APM marina services and amenities. Skills which allow for the tactful resolution of guest problems or concerns. Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation. Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness. Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation. Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication. Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection. Knowledge or ability to be trained in emergency response.
