When you work in customer care at Kuehne+Nagel, you are at the center of the customer experience. In this role, you will build strong relationships with assigned customers, take ownership of their day-to-day needs, and work across our Air Logistics teams to keep communication clear and service moving forward. 

How you create impact

As an Air Logistics Customer Care Specialist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and take ownership of their experience with Kuehne+Nagel. You will work closely with internal teams to address customer needs, support shipment execution, resolve issues, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers through proactive and consistent communication
• Provide shipment updates and communicate changes, delays, or deviations that may affect the customer
• Support customer retention and growth by understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities for additional Kuehne+Nagel services
• Prepare and follow up on spot quotations while supporting customer profitability
• Coordinate with operational, pricing, commercial, and customer care teams to resolve customer needs
• Support the onboarding and implementation of new customers
• Maintain accurate customer information, rates, and shipment-related data within internal systems
• Manage customer complaints and claims through resolution and follow appropriate escalation processes when needed
• Help ensure agreed service commitments, transit times, and commercial conditions are delivered
• Represent Kuehne+Nagel confidently in customer meetings and other customer-facing interactions

What we would like you to bring

You are a confident communicator who enjoys working directly with customers and building relationships over time. You are comfortable taking ownership of conversations, asking questions, solving problems, and working across teams to find solutions.

• Experience in customer service, customer care, account support, logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or a related environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport and manage customer relationships confidently
• Basic understanding of international logistics or freight forwarding
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle customer concerns and escalations professionally
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and priorities
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives
• Air Logistics or freight forwarding experience is preferred
• Experience with presentations or customer-facing meetings is a plus

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Chicago, Illinois, with an annual salary of $65,000 . Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
