About This Role

Deliver or pick up merchandise, packages, or other materials in a light vehicle with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), using a truck or van. Loads and unloads cargo as needed, often lifting up to 80 pounds. Essential duties include safe vehicle operation, regular maintenance, and reporting issues.

• Diligently follow all traffic laws and established transportation procedures.
• Regularly inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, ensuring the vehicles are in good working condition.
• Notify supervisors promptly if any mechanical problems arise.
• Manage billing and collections for delivered goods, processing receipts and payments as needed.
• Loading and unloading cargo from trucks, vans, or automobiles.
• Confirm shipment contents against delivery papers.
• Turn in receipts and collected funds following each delivery.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations.
• Navigate using maps and verbal directions.
• Alert bases or other vehicles of delays, accidents, or other relevant transportation situations.
• Operate light vehicles to transport materials within specified weight limits, to and from designated destinations.
• Maintain and use tools found on commercial vehicles.
• Perform minor repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs.
• Sell products from truck inventory, keeping accurate sales records.

• Maintain vehicles in good working condition.
• Report vehicle or equipment malfunctions.
• Collect fares or payment from customers.
• Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
• Record details of deliveries or shipments.
• Inspect motor vehicles.
• Load shipments, belongings, or materials.
• Verify information or specifications.
• Read maps to determine routes.
• Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment.
• Notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards.
• Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.

• Must have experience operating a forklift.
• Must be able to lift 60 to 80 pounds.

• This job is on an as needed basis. It consists of picking up and delivering material to job sites. This would be a great second job for someone that works nights or weekends or has a flexible first job schedule. It would usually involve 3 to 5 hours at a time picking up and delivering material to job sites.
