Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in MedSurg/Tele License: RN Licensure Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels Experience reading telemetry strips Skills in managing chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains, and tubes Experience with PCA pumps and medication management Description: Registered Nurse needed for MedSurg/Tele unit. The facility holds a Level 1 Trauma designation and is a teaching hospital. The unit has 29 beds with patient ratios of RN: 1:5-6 and CNA: 1:9-10. Patient types include general medicine, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal disorders, and wound care. Nurses will be responsible for lab draws and performing dressing changes. Strong teamwork and patient-centered care are foundational to the unit culture. Support staff includes CNAs, a charge nurse, and a receptionist. Telemetry monitoring is centralized, and the unit has access to a Rapid Response Team, Respiratory Therapy, Clientists, and Intensivists available 24/7. Technology includes an electronic medical record system and advanced medication dispensing systems. Candidates should have a solid background in managing telemetry and critical patient needs. First-time travelers may be considered based on experience.
