Description of Position
Guards, patrols and monitor's premises to prevent theft, violence and infractions of rules to include vehicular parking, traffic control and overall maintenance of public order. Perform a variety of safety functions to ensure the campus is a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff and visitors. Regular foot patrol of buildings, parking lots and surrounding property is required. - Report, by phone, any suspicious or criminal activity to Campus Police
- Complete lock up of all buildings at assigned campus
- Report any hazards or safety concerns observed
- Complete daily activity log
- Perform other duties as assigned This is a non-sworn uniformed position.

- Must be responsible with a good sense of judgment
- Must be able to learn and further develop professionally - Ability to work independently and adapt in a changing workplace
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required
- Physical ability is essential - Must display a willingness to appreciate the differences in individuals - Must successfully pass a polygraph test - Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any State - No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories
- Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties Preferred Skills & Abilities - Experience in security or criminal justice field
- Three or more years' experience dealing with the public - Exercise judgment and make decisions as to the appropriate action under pressure in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies - Work cooperatively, courteously and professionally with all segments of the public - Experience in crime prevention - Familiar with the structure of a post-secondary educational institution - Red Cross certified in CPR and AED

- Spanish Interpreter Incentive Program: Employees interested in additional compensation for their Spanish speaking skills agree to assist YC by attending two recruiting events and being available for Spanish Interpretation needs as they arise. Compensation is added to the employee's regular pay at the rate of $175 per month. Employees that are interested in participating let your HR Business partner know, so they can schedule you for the ACTFL language proficiency test at the YC testing center.
- Direct Deposit: Paychecks deposited directly into the employee's bank account(s)
- Tuition Waiver: Eligible Full-time Faculty and Staff, their legally married spouse, and eligible dependents may enroll in a partial or full program of coursework without payment of tuition, exceptions may be lab fees and market-based additional fees
- Sabbatical: Faculty, professional, and administrative staff may apply for compensated leave of up to a year after six years of continuous service
