Position Title Backend Software Developer

Vendor Notes Must be on-site five days a week in Woodlawn, MD Planned Start 6/30/2025 Key Required Skills:
Strong working knowledge of COBOL, JCL, ETL, Linux Scripting, and of DB2 and Oracle databases. Position Description:

• nalyze ETL jobs and the data feeds and make adjustments as needed.

• Maintain documentation for job processes and update as needed.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve job failures.

• Develop code to create new client-server jobs as part of application modernization effort.

• ttend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.

• Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.

• Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Client competitively in the marketplace.

• ll other duties as assigned or directed.

Skills Requirements:

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
• 10+ years of experience with Web component development using modern JavaScript, CSS and CSS preprocessors such as SASS and LESS, ES 6+, and Stencil.js.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE ( Required Skills )
These skills will help you succeed in this position:

• Understanding the db2 data models and JCL Programs.
• In depth understanding and experience with mainframe databases and backend applications that connect to the mainframe.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting daily production jobs and job failures.
• Proficient in writing Linux scripts for ETL.
• Excellent communication and written skills
