Assistant Estimator

Cranshaw is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join our team of dedicated pre-construction professionals. In this role you will prepare construction estimates at all phases of design on a wide array of project types. Working with 2D & 3D onscreen takeoff and estimating software we have the tools needed to work smarter and consistently deliver preconstruction services that are unmatched in the marketplace. Primary Responsibilities Develop a thorough understanding of assigned bid package scopes through detailed review of project plans, specifications, and supporting documentation. Prepare and support development of cost estimates throughout various phases of design and preconstruction. Perform accurate quantity take-offs and material quantification. Manage subcontractor bid solicitation process and ensure adequate subcontractor participation. Develop qualifications, clarifications, and assumptions for assigned bid packages. Participate in business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and interview. Identify and develop value engineering opportunities that enhance project value and cost efficiency. Perform cost analysis for alternative building systems, materials, and construction approaches. Prepare cost comparisons and reconcile estimates against previous budgets and project benchmarks. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to support successful project outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is preferred. 0-5 years of experience in estimating. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn estimating and take-off software such as Sage Estimating, Construct Connect Takeoff, Assemble Systems, Revit, Procore. Demonstrated strength in managing time and thriving in a fast-paced environment Works effectively both independently and as part of a team Proactively anticipates issues and takes steps to mitigate risks Continuously looks for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency Strong written and verbal communication skills The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000. Compensation is part of a comprehensive total rewards package, including bonus and final offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
