POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. As a Warehouse Receiver you are responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of products. This role ensures that all goods are in perfect condition, verify shipment information, and maintain accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unload incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, or defects and report any issues to the Receiving Supervisor.
• Verify the quantity and quality of received products against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Record and update inventory information in the warehouse management system.
• Label and store received items in their designated locations.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintain accurate records of received goods, including delivery receipts and inspection reports.

• Prepare and submit daily receiving reports to the Receiving Supervisor.
• Assist in preparing documents for audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate receiving of goods.
• Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the Receiving Supervisor and relevant departments.
• Keep the receiving area clean and organized.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and shipping orders, as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager or other supervisors.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must be open to work overtime when needed.
• Willing and able to learn new procedures and adapt to change.
• Ability to operate multiple MHE: Forklift/Order Picker/Pallet Jack.
• Ability to self-manage daily work.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in extreme cold environments for prolonged periods of time. (Cold Weather Gear Provided by Company)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task, while planning the time, method, manner and/or performance sequence of own work.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability and willingness to complete some moderately repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of experience in warehouse receiving, preferably in the food industry.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Indoor/cooler office environment. Indoor environment exposure to room temperature, freezer temperature, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The work environment can be noisy due to the movement of equipment and vehicles in the yard/warehouse.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day.
