Job Title: 1st Shift Stocker

Job Description

This role focuses on accurately stocking, picking, and organizing parts based on work orders in a manufacturing environment. You will use a computer-based database to locate and track parts, visually inspect materials for quality, complete related paperwork, and support general inventory activities while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders carefully and pull the correct parts according to the instructions on the sheet.
• Navigate the parts database to identify and locate items efficiently within the facility.
• Use basic computer skills to access, review, and update inventory and work order information.
• Verify part numbers and follow documented procedures to ensure accuracy in all transactions.
• Process paperwork accurately, documenting parts that are pulled, stocked, assembled, or otherwise handled.
• Visually inspect materials and parts to identify defects, damage, or other quality issues.
• Assemble parts as needed according to written instructions and established quality standards.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Support stocking, inventory control, picking, cycle counts, and order picking as required.
• Handle general labor tasks related to parts inventory and material handling.
• Participate in regular cycle counts and other inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

Essential Skills

• Strong attention to detail to accurately read work orders, verify part numbers, and process paperwork.
• Ability to navigate and use a computer-based database to locate and track parts within the facility.
• Basic computer skills to search inventory, review work orders, and update records.
• Experience or comfort with stocking, inventory, picking, cycle counts, and order picking.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Consistent work history demonstrating solid job tenure and reliability.
• Ability to visually inspect materials and identify flaws, defects, or damage.
• Capability to perform light assembly work as needed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
• Ability to work overtime on 10-hour shifts when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior inventory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Comfort working around older industrial equipment and machinery.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and leadership.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that includes a machining area and an attached foundry. The environment is industrial, with older equipment that is gradually being upgraded, and the overall area can be oily and dirty. You will work on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:55 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., with 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed. The role involves standing, walking, and performing hands-on tasks throughout the day while working with parts, inventory systems, and basic computer equipment. Appropriate work footwear is required, supported by an annual boot allowance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN.

The pay range for this position is $19.77 - $19.77/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Elkhart,IN.
