Assistant Quality Manager

Overview The Assistant Quality Manager will partner with Operations teams and collaborate with others within the organization to assist with the execution of quality management programs on our projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years’ experience Two (2) years’ experience in construction operations, quality management or quality assurance roles Experience in onsite operations is an advantage Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to follow departmental standards and accept technical direction Demonstrated interest in technical skill development and continued learning Technical Job Knowledge Assists with the implementation of quality management programs on assigned projects and tracks open items for follow‑up Familiar with expectations for projects and identifies and communicates when expectations are not being met Assists project teams in project kick‑off efforts to identify risk and ensures quality‑focused roles and responsibilities are assigned to appropriate team members Identifies alternative project quality control methods proposed by teams and reviews them with the manager to ensure they meet company and project expectations Participates in various project meetings to support quality‑focused content Assists operations staff with trade partner onboarding and planning for quality on assigned projects; identifies when quality plans are not followed Directs teams toward resources for technical assistance in correcting deficiencies and ensuring project standards are met Supports project team members in the use of DAVIS inspection templates and assists with the preparation of project‑specific inspection templates as needed Assists with preparation or supports the project team in preparing quality‑focused documents for use in trade coordination, field implementation, and field quality control Supports operations staff with the RFI process, formulating comprehensive questions and ensuring proper documentation Understands and applies knowledge of contract documents, working drawings, and various submittal types for pertinent information Maintains and organizes QA/QC documentation; assists project teams as necessary Investigates quality issues to determine underlying causes Works with the Quality department and Learning + Development department to create and deliver formal courses as needed Utilizes software such as the project management platform; teaches project team members and trade partners in the expected use of the program and assists teams with effective use in project settings Visits project sites frequently and attends meetings to oversee project progress and address issues Core Competencies Autonomy and Accountability: Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and services; works independently, receives minimal guidance, and is accountable for own work and possibly others on the team; decisions may affect the success of the department or revenue group Business Impact: Impacts own team, adjacent teams, and potentially across the company; makes decisions with minimal guidance that can affect strategic planning Talent Development: Serves as a lead for the team, leading small projects and potentially holding formal supervisory responsibilities; provides subject‑matter guidance to team members with less experience Problem Solving and Resiliency: Provides solutions to problems in atypical or infrequently occurring situations based on practice and existing precedents or procedures; gathers and analyzes data to identify and solve problems with little or no precedent Core Values Trust Excellence in Service – Fulfilling our clients’ highest expectations Inclusion – Ensuring a culture of respect and acceptance where all employees have a sense of purpose and belonging Integrity – Exhibiting honesty and fairness while holding ourselves accountable for our actions Building Relationships – Creating and maintaining strong partnerships through leadership, creative solutions, and hard work Compensation and Benefits The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00. DAVIS offers a comprehensive package including 100% employer‑paid health care (to include family), life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability benefits, and an annual contribution to your HSA.
