About the Role

Our law firm client is seeking a qualified IP Paralegal to join their Intellectual Property practice group. This role supports attorneys in managing patent prosecution, trademark portfolios, and post-grant matters before the USPTO—with a focus on supporting Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

• Inter Partes Review (IPR) Support:

  • Draft, format, and file IPR petitions, responses, motions, and supporting exhibits via PTAB E2E.

  • Track and manage PTAB statutory deadlines, discovery schedules, and hearing dates.

  • Organize evidentiary files, manage exhibit logs, and prepare hyperlinked filings for submission.

  • Coordinate with expert witnesses and vendors for transcriptions, declarations, and hearing prep.

• Patent & Trademark Administration:

  • Maintain the firm’s IP docketing system, ensuring accurate entry of USPTO, foreign office, and PTAB dates.

  • Prepare routine filings including Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney.

  • Conduct prior art searches and organize references for prosecution and litigation files.

  • Communicate with foreign associates regarding international prosecution and parallel proceedings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an IP Paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.

• Direct experience assisting with Inter Partes Review (IPR) filings and PTAB procedures.

• Proficiency with PTAB E2E and standard IP docketing software (e.g., FoundationIP, CPI, AppColl).

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

• Bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
