Details Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) with 48 or 36 hours per week options Team nursing model with a patient ratio of 1:12, split among two RNs, an LPN, and a Med Nurse (effectively 1:6-7 per RN) On-call required as needed Weekend shifts required as needed, with possible weekend block scheduling to be discussed during interview Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius, though cross-campus floating is rare Requirements Active RN license (TN or compact, NLC-compliant) required; pending licensure not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3 years preferred ADN accepted for this position Level I Trauma Center experience required Large hospital experience required Prior travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers not accepted BLS and NIHSS certifications required Epic charting experience preferred; Cerner experience preferred Skills in IV therapy, central line and port management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy required Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, tracheostomy, and oxygen management required Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required Experience managing wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE required Copy of driver's license required for consideration Vaccination status documentation required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model in a high-acuity Med/Surg Tele setting Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius are not accepted Holiday coverage required if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during the assignment, must work at least 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1 All requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration, as RTO requests made after an offer will not be honored Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-756832.
