Responsibilities Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines. Prepare foods according to safety and cooking instructions, maintaining temperature logs. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products properly. Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking appropriate action. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs. Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies. Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making suggestions. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents. Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and properly. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity. Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
