Description

This position will work on-site at The Aquatic Center in Mylan Park, West Virginia. The Aquatic Center includes a community pool, an Olympic-sized competition pool, outdoor splash pad, dynamic fitness room, outdoor track and so much more. It has become a local hub of sports tourism by hosting elite-level regional and national Aquatics and Track events.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise camper activities to ensure a fun, safe environment
• Execute weekly camp games, activities, on-campus field trips, crafts, etc.
• Correctly respond to any injury or emergency situations
• Provide encouragement to all participants in program
• Monitor camper drop-off and pick-up each day
• Fully participate in all camp games and activities, including swimming during pool time
• and belaying during climbing at the rock wall
• Handle camper disputes and other behavioral issues; accordingly, discipline as
• necessary
• Effectively communicate with parents and guardians throughout the camp day
• Promote a safe, learning environment for campers
• Be available for both morning, afternoon shifts, and periodically throughout the Fall and
• Spring semester
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age

• Current CPR/AED/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer (CPRO) Certification or able to receive certification within 30 days of 1st day of camp (June 2nd)
