Position Summary:

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting physicians, ensuring efficient patient flow, and delivering an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with both patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient workups and ophthalmic testing
Accurately document examination findings, assessments, and treatment plans
Assist ophthalmologists during examinations, procedures, and in-office laser treatments
Obtain and document patient medical histories
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations
Ensure patients understand physician instructions and follow-up care
Maintain efficient patient flow and communicate appointment status
Administer ophthalmic medications as directed
Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic equipment
Triage patient phone calls according to clinical protocols
Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal
Clinical Skills & Equipment Experience Preferred

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy clinical setting
