Job Title

RN II – Surgery (Mandatory Call) | Operating Room

Location

San Luis Obispo, CA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 5x8s, Monday–Friday, rotating start times between 0600–2030 | On-call required (at least 1 night per week and 1 weekend per schedule period; additional call may be required based on need)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, coordinating the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff
• Ensure patient safety throughout all phases of perioperative care
• Participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment
• Support and adapt to rotating schedules and mandatory call assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice
• BLS certification from an approved vendor (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of full-time Operating Room experience
• Experience in Orthopedic, Neuro, and Trauma surgical specialties (required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (required)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent (required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified Nurse Operating Room ( CNOR ) certification
