PRN Staff Pharmacist

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to join our Clinic Pharmacy team!

Position Highlights

• Clinic hours are 6:30am 5:00pm weekdays and 7:00am 3:30pm weekends, with variable 8-hour and 10-hour shifts as needed (PRN).
• Pharmacist responsibilities include day to day staffing duties which includes outpatient clinic infusions and inpatient TPN. This position requires sterile medication preparation and dispensing, providing drug information, working with clinic infusion nursing and the billing team to troubleshoot drug approvals and therapy plan updates.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews drug orders and/or prescriptions to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
• Provides outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related problems.
• Prepares and dispenses medications, provides drug information and manages medication therapy in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and hospital policy.
• Supervises the activities of assigned support personnel and verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared by support personnel prior to dispensing to patients or dispensing to healthcare providers for administration to patients.
