Laser Tracker Operator / Composite Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a Laser Tracker Operator / Composite Technician to support inspection, alignment, and quality checks in a production environment. You will use laser trackers and metrology tools to measure parts and assemblies and ensure they meet engineering and quality standards. This is a long-term contract role with a strong chance to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser tracker systems to measure parts and assemblies
• Perform alignment, fit-up, and dimensional inspections
• Read engineering drawings and GD&T to verify tolerances
• Support first article, in-process, and final inspections
• Create clear inspection reports and share results with engineering and quality teams
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment
• Assist with identifying and resolving quality issues
• Work with composite tools, fixtures, and bonded assemblies

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience using laser trackers in a shop or production environment
• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
• Experience with inspections using laser trackers or CMMs
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a shop, clean room, or warehouse setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Verisurf or similar metrology software
• Aerospace industry experience
• Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and tooling
• Experience handling composite materials and tools
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
• High school diploma or GED

Work Environment & Schedule

• Hands-on shop and production environment
• Occasional work in clean rooms and warehouse areas
• 9/80 work schedule
• First shift: approximately 6:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Clemente, CA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
