Special Education Paraprofessional (Preschool Instructional Assistant) Location: Phoenix, AZ 85021 (On-site) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM Pay : $23.79/hr Summary Now hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional (Preschool Instructional Assistant) to support students in a classroom setting. This Special Education Paraprofessional role focuses on implementing instructional goals, supporting behavioral strategies, and assisting with IEP-related activities under the direction of the Teacher. Responsibilities Assist the Teacher with instructional objectives, classroom routines, and lesson support Support IEP (Individualized Education Plan) goals and behavioral strategies in daily activities Tutor students individually and in small groups (academics, daily living skills, social skills) Monitor and help students use equipment safely to prevent injury Observe, document, and help maintain student records/files per policies and procedures Provide hands-on assistance as needed (may include toileting, feeding, hygiene, lifting/positioning) Help with transitions and student transport to activities/appointments when required Use behavior management techniques and maintain a calm, supportive learning environment Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and consistent communication with classroom staff Participate in trainings/workshops to support ongoing professional development Qualifications High School Diploma and one of the following: Associate’s Degree, or Completion of 60 college credits, or Valid Paraprofessional Certification Current Arizona Driver’s License CPR & First Aid certification (current) Crisis Intervention Training certification (current) or ability to obtain within required timeline Experience supporting students with behavioral needs and/or special education classroom environments (preferred) Comfort supporting students in active, hands-on settings (standing, moving, lifting, hygiene support as needed) Strong communication skills, organization, multitasking, and ability to work with minimal supervision Assistive technology (AT) familiarity, augmentative communication exposure, ASL and/or Braille skills (preferred, as applicable)
