LSSI is hiring a full-time Custodian. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the building and/or surrounding areas by performing a variety of tasks including cleaning, sanitizing, and minor repairs.

Scheduled: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum floors.
• Remove clutter and dust furniture and surfaces.
• Clean windows and mirrors.
• Make minor repairs including but not limited to replacing light bulbs.
• Ensure proper disposal of trash, rubbish, and refuse including emptying recycle bins.
• Replenish restroom supplies.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
• Complete minor maintenance related to appliances and/or grounds as needed.
• Assist with set up and/or breakdown of events as needed.
• Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner; including but not limited to inquiries received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
• Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information as well as ensuring the security of all LSSI systems is maintained.
• Responsible for completing all required training assignments as well as complying with the related organizational, administrative, and programmatic policies.
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check clearance required.
• One (1) to two (2) years of custodial (or janitorial) experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency preferred.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage preferred.
