Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Trauma General Surgery Inpatient Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Yes, required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Must have Epic experience. Must have Level 1 Trauma experience. Must have 1:6 ratio experience. Must have experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, and respiratory support. Experience with traumatic brain injuries and complex spinal cord injuries is required. Description: This position is for a high-impact, fast-paced nursing unit. Nurses encounter a variety of patient conditions and care modalities. The unit handles complex wound care and traumatic injuries. Chest-wall injuries requiring chest tubes and respiratory support are common. The team works with patients undergoing bariatric weight-loss surgeries. Nurses collaboratively engage with care management, surgical, medical, rehabilitation, and perioperative services. The unit has both step-down and floor patients for diverse nursing experiences. The patient-to-nurse ratio is maintained at 1:6 for floor patients and 1:3 for step-down patients. Nurses are responsible for monitoring patients and validating vital signs. Nursing staff are supported by clinical associates who assist in patient care. All nurses are expected to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. The dress code requires wearing royal blue scrubs. Cancellation policies allow for two shifts per contract. The charting system used is EPIC.
