Job Opportunity in Dublin, GA
Join our team in the trim grinding department located in Dublin, GA. We are seeking a skilled technician proficient in machining math, including addition and subtraction of decimals, and familiar with using an engineering scale. The candidate should be comfortable operating manual grinding machines, as our department does not utilize CNC equipment. Experience in honing, lapping, and grinding is essential.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate two or more production machines, working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.
- Perform machine operations such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts with pre-planned materials, tooling, and sequence of operations.
- Make necessary machine adjustments and report improper functioning or cutting actions for correction.
- Conduct operations like tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts per documentation.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities from machined parts.
- Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, gauges, and comparators.
- Maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.
- Perform all statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements accurately and regularly.
- Participate in lean initiatives by identifying and suggesting areas for improvement. Apply lean concepts and tools in the work area.
- Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other related responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
- Two years of related machining experience.
- Able to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, possibly including trigonometry.
- Effectively apply lean initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Interpret reports and use job-specific software applications. Able to use employee self-service systems to access online information and use specialized automated systems (e.g., PMR, TORS, email).
- Effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
Shift/Work Schedule
1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
