Certified Medical Assistant A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Primary Care Associates – Atrium plays a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The position involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, health education, and administrative coordination using technology to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Provide for patient safety and protect patient privacy rights. Perform general patient care in accordance with established standards and procedures. Greet patients, prepare them for the health care provider, and explain instructions. Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem. Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis when required. Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant routes. Required Qualifications High School Graduate or High School GED. Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., AAMA, Clinical Medical Assistant, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, AMT, or MMCI) upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR within 30 days of hiring. May require specialized training such as Non‑Certified Radiologic Technician. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or exam. Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience. Experience with electronic health record systems.
