Furnace Operator 6pm - 6am

Come be a part of a growing organization that has been in business for over 200 years! Heat Treat Furnace Operator 12 hour shifts: Weekday nights Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and every other Thursday (6P-6A)

Basic Job Functions:

• Operate furnace and run assigned production
• Perform operating role when machine is in regular production, perform startup and shutdown per work instructions
• Complete batch checks
• Perform documented SPC checks
• Complete labor and quantities reporting in ERP system
• Complete daily shift requirements
• Complete required communication logs
• Complete needed material handling for self and others

Furnace Changeover and Troubleshooting Responsibilities:

• Perform furnace diagnostics to troubleshoot stoppage for immediate repair
• Perform general maintenance to working areas to ensure furnace uptime
• Report maintenance issues found
• Perform part changeovers as needed
• Ensure 1st Piece Approvals are completed
• Annual shut down over Christmas and New Year's

Furnace Setup Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot individual furnace problems
• Identify upcoming part changes and coordinate changeovers based on resources available

Position Requirements:

Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Education: High school diploma or GED required

• Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong, dedicated work ethic
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to read blueprints and gaging instruments (calipers/micrometers)
• Competent in basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide simple geometry)
• Ability to anticipate actions needed and quickly adapt to change
• Shows basic mechanical aptitude
• General computer skills
• Good work history and extremely good attendance dependable
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Must be able to obtain licensure and willing to operate a forklift
• Cleanliness and detail oriented
• Good safety practices
• Must be willing to work other positions
• Ability to work in warmer/humid temperature areas

Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to climb stairs, use repetitive hand motion, and to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop or lift up to 50 pounds
